Law Practice Club: A useful playground for Vinh University students
(Baonghean.vn)- With more than 400 members focusing on three main areas: academics, legal dissemination and popular movements. The Law Practice Club under the Faculty of Law (Vinh University) has become a useful playground for students to learn, experience, and improve their knowledge and skills in practicing law....
One of the impressive and attractive activities of the Law Practice Club is the successful organization of mock trials. These are specific situations that students filter from real life situations.
Before the trial began, delegates and the audience watched a short clip reenacting the case being tried in a mock trial, staged and choreographed by members of the Law Practice Club. Each semester, students will participate in about 2 mock trials. This activity of the Club has been included in the official curriculum of Law students at Vinh University.

Dang Le Thuy Trang, a final year student of the Faculty of Law (Vinh University) shared: This is a very useful and practical activity, not only providing us students with knowledge related to the law industry but also warning about real-life situations of law violations. In addition, "Mock Trial" is also an opportunity for future law students (Judges, Lawyers, Prosecutors) to cultivate and practice soft skills, creating motivation for them to be confident and actively study better.

Established in 1999 (also the year of establishment of Faculty of Law - Vinh University), up to now the Law Practice Club has been operating for 6 years and has increasingly affirmed itself as a useful playground attracting students to participate.
According to Dr. Dinh Ngoc Thang - Dean of the Faculty of Law - Vinh University: The main purpose of establishing the Law Practice Club is to train and equip skills for law students. In addition to academic activities such as organizing mock trials, gold medal competitions, olympics, cemina on Law majors such as Criminal Law, Civil Law, Administrative Procedure Law, Business Law, etc. Club members also participate in legal propaganda activities in the community, participate in legal seminars on domestic violence, gender equality, local government law in Vinh city and in the province.
"Reality shows that students who actively participate in club activities are more mature, more confident and integrate into work faster when they graduate" - Dr. Dinh Ngoc Thang added. |
In addition to the Board of Directors consisting of 5 people (both lecturers and students) who run the Law Practice Club, the members are divided into 15 small groups, each group has its own programs and activities in addition to participating in the Club's major programs. The contest not only helps students consolidate their professional knowledge and compete, but is also a place for them to demonstrate their abilities and support each other in many aspects: teamwork, logical thinking, eloquence, situation handling; skills in handling legal issues, presentation skills, document research, working with prosecution agencies....
In the process of participating in superficial activities such as disseminating and popularizing the law in the community, Club members always strive to "soften" seemingly dry legal knowledge, so that recipients can easily absorb, understand and be more excited through the form of dramatization, folk performances, and asking situational questions.

And popularize the law at SOS Children's Villages |
For example, when participating in volunteer activities at SOS Children's Village, the Club always builds situations through specific models that are suitable for psychology and age, and has two-way communication and sharing, so that children are excited to participate in propaganda activities on traffic laws and children's laws. Or most recently, the Club participated in a communication program to learn about the Resolution of the 18th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress, the election of the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term organized by Nghe An Provincial Youth Union in the form of direct interaction and media dramatization.
