1,000 projects marking the youth's strength in Nghi Loc
(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the motto of each youth union base having one project, one youth work to participate in building the new rural area, the Youth Union at all levels in Nghi Loc has implemented many creative models and methods with practical effectiveness.
The project "Lighting up the countryside" is a meaningful activity implemented by the District Youth Union in 10 communes in Nghi Loc. Up to now, the whole district has had 300 light bulbs installed with a total cost of more than 60 million VND.

Now, the country roads in Nghi Hoa commune at night are no longer covered in darkness, but instead are lit up by the enthusiasm and youthfulness of Nghi Loc district youth union. The project is implemented with a total length of 900m, installed with 50 compact bulbs and accompanying equipment, with a total cost of nearly 10 million VND.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chu, Secretary of Duc Thanh Hamlet, Nghi Hoa Commune, shared: “The hamlet’s electricity lines were previously damaged. We held many meetings with the people but could not reach an agreement due to financial difficulties. Fortunately, Nghi Loc District Youth Union invested in the lighting system. Thanks to that, the security and order situation in the area has improved a lot. It is also more convenient for parishioners to go to mass at night.”

In addition, through specific and meaningful actions, Nghi Loc district youth have participated in building infrastructure, beautifying the landscape, protecting the environment... Up to now, the whole district has carried out over 1,000 projects and youth work to build new rural areas.
Of which, there are 500 large-scale projects with high economic value. With a total cost of over 3 billion VND.
In Nghi Khanh, to reach the finish line on time in the roadmap for implementing the national target program on new rural construction, the Party Committee, government and people have made efforts to complete the unmet criteria. Of which, the irrigation and environmental criteria are considered the most difficult. Promoting the pioneering role, the commune delegation has undertaken the construction of 15 irrigation works in the area. The total cost is nearly 200 million VND.

In addition, implementing the "Volunteer Saturday" and "Green Sunday" movements, since the beginning of the year, the commune has mobilized more than 2,000 youth union members to participate in environmental protection activities, collecting more than 2,500 m3 of waste and planting nearly 600 trees of all kinds. Thanks to that, up to now, the two environmental and irrigation criteria of Nghi Khanh commune have basically met the new rural standards. It is expected to reach the new rural standard by the end of 2016.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le - Secretary of Nghi Loc District Youth Union said: Responding to the program "Youth join hands to build new countryside", in addition to the projects and tasks proactively implemented by the district and commune youth unions, in recent years, the Standing Committee of the district youth union has also actively consulted with the higher-level youth union to support activities. Specifically, the Provincial Youth Union has supported computers for Nghi Phuong Commune Youth Union, supported 20 million VND to build a volleyball court in Hau Hoa hamlet, Nghi Hoa commune, the Central Youth Union supported 50 million VND to build a "red scarf" house in Nghi Hop commune.... These activities contribute to sustainable poverty reduction and increase income for local people. Thereby contributing to completing the roadmap for building new countryside". |
