Wimbledon sets record prize money
The winner of this year's Wimbledon - the third Grand Slam of the year - will receive a record £2m prize money, the biggest in the history of the biggest grass-court tennis tournament.
Wimbledon have decided to increase the total prize money at the All England Club event by 5% to £28.1m, meaning a player eliminated in the first round of the singles tournament will still receive at least £30,000.

With the current increase, Wimbledon has equalled the Australian Open's prize money for the champion, is £400,000 more than the French Open and is only slightly behind the US Open, where last year's winner Djokovic pocketed £2.1m in prize money.
The All England Club announced it was also increasing its spending on the fight against match-fixing to monitor betting odds at bookmakers for the event, which runs from June 27 to July 10.
