The Prime Minister's message of closeness to the people.

A simple swivel chair sat on the stage, where the Prime Minister conversed with the workers, and as worker Vu Duy Tho said: "The Prime Minister was so approachable and down-to-earth." Only the Prime Minister and the workers were in the middle of the stadium, sitting and standing close together, without any distance between them.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc holds a dialogue with workers.

The chair he sat on to rest after the interaction was just a plastic chair, like those used by the workers. He sat in the same row, next to the workers, in a cheerful and friendly manner. That image left a deep impression on the workers; it seemed like a long time since they had sat so close to a Prime Minister.

The nine questions posed by workers to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc addressed the most pressing issues facing workers, such as income, housing, social insurance, cultural life, and childcare for their children. The Prime Minister answered each question specifically, acknowledged the concerns, offered solutions and commitments, and directed relevant ministries and localities to take action to improve the material and spiritual lives of workers. The Prime Minister even went down to where the workers were seated, surrounded by applause. He stood beside a female worker, attentively answering her questions, and his words were truly moving.

Worker Nguyen Gia Thai said he never thought he would have the opportunity to stand so close to the Prime Minister and "wished to hug the Prime Minister," and he happily embraced Nguyen Gia Thai. Perhaps never before has there been such an affectionate and intimate image of a Prime Minister with a worker.

Much has been said about the phrase "being close to the people." However, in reality, many leaders are very distant from the people, even from their own hearts. It's understood that being close to the people isn't about sitting next to them, but about working for them, responding to their aspirations and concerns. However, any content also contains a form, and vice versa. Reaching out to the people, sitting beside them, listening directly to their words – that is both the form and the content. And that is the message of being close to the people conveyed by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Other officials should look at the image of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Dong Nai Provincial Gymnasium to reflect on themselves. Local leaders should ask themselves if they have ever gone to the workers, sat down and talked with them, or embraced a laborer. Through such closeness, they can inquire about the lives of the workers and understand the hardships of the people.

Understanding leads to action.
