A special antique market in Vinh City.
(Baonghan.vn) – On the morning of June 12th, the Song Lam Antique Association held a special market for exchanging and appreciating antiques in Vinh City. This is an annual activity held every Sunday morning by the association to learn about and exchange antiques.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Chairman of the Song Lam Antique Association, the antique exchange and viewing market has been held since the Song Lam Antique Association was established in May 2013. Once a week, on Sunday mornings, all members bring their antiques to display for everyone to admire, exchange, and learn about.
The market was organized with the aim of promoting, exchanging, and sharing knowledge to enhance understanding and foster the spirit of preserving the cultural and historical identity of the homeland. Here, members not only learn and improve their knowledge of history and antiques but also satisfy their desire to admire and exchange antiques with each other.

Mr. Dao Tam Tinh, Vice Chairman of the Song Lam Antiquities Association, shared that the artifacts brought to the market were collected by members in Nghe An province. They are mainly artifacts from the Han-Viet and Dong Son periods, dating back around 2,000 years, and from the Ly, Tran, Le, and Nguyen dynasties, including pottery, earthenware, porcelain, bronze, and wood.
Besides members of the association, the market also attracts many antique enthusiasts from all over the country, such as from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Hue, etc., who often bring antiques to exchange and trade with members of the Song Lam Antique Association.

Mr. Cao Khanh Minh, from Hung Phuc ward, Vinh City, one of the 60 members of the association, said that he has been collecting antiques for more than a decade. He usually collects stoneware, blue and white porcelain, bonsai trees... mainly from Vietnam and China. At this fair, he not only got to admire antiques but also bought a painting of a fisherman's boat on the river, a piece of Giang Tan porcelain, along with many other valuable paintings.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, an antique collector from Thai Binh province, participated in the antique fair organized by the Song Lam Antique Association. This was Mr. Thanh's first time attending this fair. Having participated in many fairs throughout the country, Mr. Thanh commented that the Vinh City antique fair left a strong impression on him. At the antique fair, he not only admired rare and valuable artifacts but also felt the enthusiasm, joy, and warmth of everyone present.
