Car on highway caught fire, 4 people broke the door to escape

A Kia Morning was traveling on Highway 39 when it suddenly caught fire. Four men inside broke the door and escaped.

At 2:30 p.m. on June 13, people traveling on Highway 39, through Tay An Commune (Tien Hai, Thai Binh) discovered a Kia Morning with license plate 29D on fire at the rear. Many people shouted and told the driver to stop the car to put out the fire.

Witness Cao Hiep said that within minutes, the fire engulfed the rear of the car and spread to the interior. The driver pulled the car to the side of the road, and four men inside broke the door and escaped.

More than 10 people stopped their cars and used mini spray bottles and tree branches to help the driver put out the fire. About 20 minutes later, the fire was under control, but the entire interior and the rear of the car were burned black. The rear windshield and rear door were shattered. The driver reported the incident to the local police.

A representative of the Thai Binh Province rescue team said the incident caused the Kia's interior and rear to burn down. Fortunately, the four people inside were not injured. As of 7 p.m. the same day, the car had not been removed from the scene while waiting for the insurance company to examine and make a report.

This person said that the car had many damaged parts, and estimated the repair and replacement cost to be more than 100 million VND.
