'Green Tower' Air Conditioner Nominated for 2016 African Innovation Award
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 10, the African Innovation Foundation (AIF) announced 10 nominations for the 2016 African Innovation Awards (IPA). The “Green Tower” air conditioner has successfully surpassed more than 3,600 other initiatives at the 2016 IPA to be included in the nomination list of 10 best initiatives.

IPA is an annual competition to find creative and useful solutions for everyday life.
The final voting results will be announced at the Gala night taking place on June 23 at the Gabon National Convention Center.
The “Green Tower” was developed by Professor André Nel since 2007. Professor Nel has a degree in electronic and software engineering from the University of Pretoria, South Africa since 1991.
The “Green Tower” is a solar-powered water heater and air conditioner, which can save up to 90% of energy consumption. The hot water and air conditioning systems can contribute up to 60% of energy consumption.
This device uses a solar heat pump solution through a collector, low pressure tank and heat exchanger.
With the growing demand for energy in Africa, this initiative promises to have huge growth potential.
