From the reality of his business, Mr. Nguyen Giang Hoai - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phu Quy Mineral Stone Company, expressed his opinion: "Businesses in the field of stone mining and processing need technical workers to operate automatic sawing, grinding, cutting machines and handicraft workers, but it is currently very difficult to recruit them. In addition, the unit and the enterprise are currently implementing a project to synchronously apply scientific and technical advances in the cultivation and post-harvest processing of quality oranges on a scale of 20 hectares, but cannot recruit engineers or skilled workers in orange growing techniques."

Mr. Pham Nam Hai - Principal of the Western Economic and Technical Vocational College, also acknowledged the reality: Although every year, the school meets and exceeds the training target assigned by the province, on average each year it attracts about 230 - 260 vocational intermediate students. Referring to the quality of technical labor training, Mr. Tran Anh Son - Director of Nghe An Agricultural Import-Export Corporation said that it has not met the requirements of businesses.

The issues that businesses have raised have also been clearly recognized by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee at a working session at the end of May. The assessment after 4 years of implementing the high-tech labor training project also clearly stated: The quality of technical labor training in some occupations is still low, lacking practicality and failing to meet the requirements of businesses.

Sharing about the current situation of shortage and weakness in technical labor force, Dr. Duong Cong Hiep - Vice Principal of Vinh University of Technical Education admitted that this is an ongoing reality. The reason for the shortage is due to the inadequate, if not one-sided, awareness of learners and parents about vocational training. Therefore, the general situation in recent times is that vocational schools have had great difficulty in recruiting students.

Faced with the need for comprehensive integration into the global economy, especially with the goal of developing industrialization and modernization, making Nghe An basically an industrial province by 2020, the need for a highly skilled workforce is more urgent than ever, requiring a comprehensive and synchronous strategy and solutions. According to many concerns, if the province is not really determined, the job creation program for workers will become increasingly difficult.

To solve the problem of shortage and weakness in technical labor force, according to opinions from state managers to vocational schools and enterprises, first of all, it is necessary to promote communication work, at the same time, there must be serious research with realistic basis, from which to give opinions that have a strong impact on the awareness of parents and learners about vocational training.

In short, to have a quality workforce, skilled workers, meeting social requirements requires the participation of the entire political system and society, not just vocational schools.
