Chinese child dies after wall collapses on him during International Children's Day celebration.

A four-year-old girl died when a wall at a kindergarten in central China suddenly collapsed.

A concrete wall at a kindergarten in Wuhan, Hubei province, China, collapsed while the school was holding a celebration for International Children's Day, Chutian Metropolis Daily reported.

A four-year-old girl died, and several other children were injured, two of whom were taken to the hospital. Several parents attending the welcoming ceremony were also injured.

The building was very old and some parts of the walls showed signs of deterioration after the heavy rains last month, a representative of the kindergarten said.

The school has been closed pending an investigation. The principal has been arrested by local police.
