Nghe An: Handling over 3,400 cases of violations of smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, and trade fraud

(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from the provincial Market Management Department, in the first 6 months of 2016, the market management force inspected and handled 4,196 cases with a total estimated fine value of over 5.1 billion VND.

Specifically, the total number of inspections was 4,196 (65% of the 2016 plan target completed); 3,433 cases were handled, including 132 cases of smuggling prohibited goods, 63 cases of counterfeit goods and intellectual property rights, 247 cases of commercial fraud and 360 cases of food safety violations. Of the total estimated fine value of over 5.1 billion VND, the value of confiscated and destroyed goods was over 1.9 billion VND.

In the first 6 months of 2016, market inspection and control were maintained regularly, creating positive changes in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and other illegal business activities. There was regular coordination between the Market Management force and functional forces and local authorities in inspecting and handling violations, especially in major and important cases.

The provincial market management force continues to strengthen inspection and handling of violations in management areas.
