Suspected drowning of a woman before going to the airport to pick up her husband

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 25, Mr. Phan Nhat Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Thanh commune, Dien Chau district confirmed that a woman had just drowned while swimming in the sea.

Previously, at around 7:00 p.m. on June 24, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nam (born in 1985), residing in Block 1, Dien Chau town, Dien Chau district, along with her younger sister, took 4 children (2 of Ms. Nam's children and 2 of her younger sister's children) to Dien Thanh beach to swim.

After letting her children bathe and go ashore, Ms. Nam went into the sea. Unfortunately, Ms. Nam was suddenly swept away by the waves and disappeared.

After receiving the news, local authorities mobilized forces, coordinated with Dien Thanh Border Guard Station (Dien Chau) and local fishermen to search for the victim.

It is known that Ms. Nam's husband went to work in Angola and would return at around 9:00 p.m. that same day. Therefore, Ms. Nam took the children to the beach before going to the airport to pick up her husband.

After a night of searching, the victim’s body was still not found by the morning of June 25. Rescue teams are still actively searching.
