98.77% of voters nationwide participated in voting
Election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term: 98.77% of voters nationwide participated in the vote.
According to data sent to the National Election Council as of 10:20 p.m. on May 22, 98.77% of voters nationwide went to the polls. Of these, Thua Thien-Hue and Yen Bai achieved the highest turnout of 99.99%.

Responding to the press last night, Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chief of Office of the National Election Council said: In general, the voter participation rate was very high, over 90%. Of which, the two provinces with the highest rate of 99.99% were Thua Thien - Hue and Yen Bai. The provinces with over 99.9% were Hoa Binh; Quang Nam; Ben Tre; Lai Chau; Hau Giang; Bac Ninh; Dak Lak. Most of the election teams declared the end of the voting according to regulations.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc, the opening of ballot boxes and the counting of ballots were all supervised by voters and the press, very openly, transparently and clearly. This is a new point in the implementation of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies at all levels. Regarding the election work in detention camps, the election was carried out well, detainees were allowed to participate in voting and absolute safety was ensured.
Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc also said that many places have carried out the election very creatively, such as: Hau Giang has a map of polling stations, which facilitates the situation and direction of the election in the whole province. Hanoi has creatively printed a biographical excerpt of the candidates at four levels and sent it to each family so that people have the opportunity to learn, exchange and discuss the candidates they trust.
