Do Luong: Building union shelters for teachers in difficult circumstances
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 24, the District Labor Federation coordinated with the Education Trade Union of Do Luong District to organize the groundbreaking ceremony to build a union house for two teachers in difficult circumstances.
Accordingly, the union shelter was started to be built for Ms. Phan Thi Lien, a teacher at Minh Son Primary School in Hamlet 5, Hung Nguyen Town. Ms. Lien has worked in the education sector in Do Luong for 29 years, and her family has been living in very difficult circumstances. For many years, her family had to rent a temporary house. Support of 30 million VND from the union shelter fund has helped her have more conditions to build a small house.
The second union shelter was built for teacher Tran Thi Linh, Thai Son Secondary School. Her home is in Cat Van Commune (Thanh Chuong), and every day Ms. Linh has to travel over 20 km to get to school. Her husband is often sick and unable to work, so she has to take care of him and her sick grandfather. For more than 5 years, her family has had to live temporarily in a dilapidated house.
