According to the indictment: at about 9:00 a.m. on April 3, 2016, Nguyen Van Hoang, residing in Xuan Son hamlet, Van Loi commune, Quy Hop district, drove a motorbike carrying Ms. Che Thi Nhung (Hoang's lover) to Thai Hoa town for a pregnancy check-up.

When arriving at Quang Tien ward (Thai Hoa town), because he did not have enough money to pay for Nhung's pregnancy check-up, Nguyen Van Hoang had the idea of ​​snatching property. At this time, Nhung stayed at the clinic while Nguyen Van Hoang alone drove his motorbike along Highway 48 from Thai Hoa town to Yen Ly intersection to find someone who was not paying attention and then snatch their property.

When arriving at Tan Phu block, Hoa Hieu ward (Thai Hoa town), Hoang discovered ahead of her Ms. Vo Thi Thuy Quynh driving an electric bicycle from Thai Hoa town to Yen Ly intersection, on the left handlebar of the bicycle hung a red leather wallet. Hoang immediately drove his motorbike closer to Ms. Quynh, used his left hand to snatch the leather wallet and quickly accelerated away.

Nguyen Van Hoang's actions were discovered by Thai Hoa town police and chased by the masses. Nguyen Van Hoang turned his car around and drove towards Quy Hop, and was arrested at the intersection in Quang Tien ward, Thai Hoa town.

When arrested, Hoang voluntarily handed over to Thai Hoa Town Police a leather wallet containing 1,454,000 VND. According to the property valuation results, the leather wallet is worth 320,000 VND, the total value of the property that Nguyen Van Hoang appropriated from Ms. Quynh is 1,774,000 VND.

At the trial, defendant Nguyen Van Hoang confessed to all of his crimes. Based on the nature and severity of the crimes and considering the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the panel sentenced the defendant to 36 months in prison for robbery.
