(Baonghean) - The impression I had when meeting and talking with him was the simplicity in the story about 35 years of being a teacher.

“I am a teacher of Education, so being a good example, dedicated and fulfilling my responsibilities as a teacher comes naturally to me.

Therefore, my contributions throughout my life as a teacher are nothing compared to the contributions of teachers in the school." When asked about studying following Uncle Ho's moral example, teacher Pham Minh Hung said very simply.

In 1973, teacher Pham Minh Hung passed the entrance exam to the Faculty of Literature, Vinh Pedagogical University, at the same time teachers and students of the school had to evacuate to Thanh Chuong district. Students of the school had to build their own houses to live in, facing many hardships.

It was also during those fierce war years that he, along with generations of lecturers and students, overcame all difficulties and hardships, passionately creating many valuable scientific works.

Thanks to his academic achievements, in 1982 he was retained by the school as a lecturer in the Department of Education and Psychology, which was the "key" department of Vinh Pedagogical University at that time.

Mr. Hung recalls: “Our biggest concern is how to make sure that students graduate with solid skills, high-level pedagogical abilities and knowledge. Therefore, we all struggle to find new ways of teaching so that students can absorb: teaching is first and foremost about teaching students to be human beings.”

Since 1999 when he was appointed Head of the Faculty of Primary Education, and later the Faculty of Education, he has constantly struggled to find new directions and ways to innovate teaching and learning methods for students.

That is why, together with his colleagues from the Faculty of Education, he has published 60 scientific research works published in domestic and international journals; and guided 20 doctoral students to successfully defend their theses.

In which, the key ministerial topic: Developing a team of teachers to meet new requirements... is considered a breakthrough in transferring training methods and improving pedagogical capacity for students.

Up to now, after 35 years of teaching in many different management positions, Mr. Hung has drawn simple yet profound conclusions: “Being a teacher teaching students is an extremely difficult task, requiring teachers, in addition to knowledge and understanding, to set an example from the podium to life. That means being exemplary in speech, language, lifestyle, and behavior with all those around them.”
