*In Dien Chau:Overcoming difficulties in weather, pests, and drought, but with many timely solutions, providing adequate supplementary seeds, ensuring irrigation water, and preventing pests, 9,200 hectares of spring rice in Dien Chau achieved high productivity. Spring rice yield reached 71.5 tons/ha.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hung, a farmer in Dien Minh: This is the most productive crop ever. Planting 4 sao yields 1.5 tons of rice.

Through the inspection and evaluation of the District People's Committee, the average yield of spring rice reached 71.5 tons/ha, 3.5 tons/ha higher than the previous spring crop. Typically, some hybrid rice varieties such as Thai Xuyen 111, VT404, Huong Uu 98, Khai Phong I, yielded 75 tons/ha.

Currently, farmers in the communes of Dien Binh, Dien Minh, Dien Cat... are going to the fields to harvest spring rice. The mass harvest will take place within the next week. It is expected that by June 5, Dien Chau district will finish harvesting the spring rice crop.

After the spring rice harvest, Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Dien Minh plowed the land to quickly plant the summer-autumn crop.

Because the harvest is later than the spring crop of previous years, the District People's Committee directed localities to prepare the land for summer-autumn planting as soon as they harvest, especially in low-lying fields at risk of flooding.

* In Yen Thanh:With the motto of safe and secure production, this year's summer-autumn crop, Yen Thanh district has structured with short-term main varieties such as: NA2 Viet Lai 20, Thien Nguyen Uu 16, LC270, P6, Khang Dan Mut Mut, Thai Xuyen 111, Thuy Huong 404, Nep 87 and Bac Thom No. 7... evenly distributed in the intensive farming and summer-autumn flood-free areas.

Good seeds, soaked and incubated properly so the seedlings sprout well.

In order to provide enough quality seeds for production, recently, the District Plant Seed Station has cooperated with reputable units to bring in over 200 tons of high-yield rice seeds.

In addition to supplying to agricultural cooperatives, the Station also provides services at retail counters in the area, has economic contracts and commits to quality warranty.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duong - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Yen Thanh district said: the district has soon had a production plan, thoroughly instructed farmers to strictly implement the sowing schedule, adhere to the principle of one crop at a time, on one field only use from 1 to 2 types of seeds. Therefore, the communes all pay attention to planning the rice seedling area, planting concentrated rice seedlings and instructing farmers to plant seeds on the same day to facilitate care, preservation and prevention of harmful pests.

Seedlings are sown evenly to ensure density.

During the process of preparing the soil for rice seedlings, farmers added compost mixed with NPK fertilizer to provide enough nutrients for the rice seedlings to grow.

For one sao of production land, people have soaked and incubated an appropriate amount of seeds: 2 kg of seeds (for pure rice); 1 to 1.2 kg of seeds (for hybrid rice). Up to now, the whole district has planned 300 hectares of seedlings, many areas of young seedlings have developed 1.5 leaves, ensuring they are old enough to be transplanted into the fields in early June. All seedlings are treated to be free of pests and diseases before being transplanted.
