(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 20th, the Tan Ky District Military Command, in coordination with the Engineering Battalion of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, proceeded to destroy an unexploded bomb remaining from the war.

Previously, according to reports from residents in Hamlet 1A, Nghia Hop Commune, while excavating, a bomb measuring 2 meters in length, 50 centimeters in diameter, and weighing approximately 250 pounds was discovered at a depth of about 3.5 meters. Significantly, the bomb was found very close to the residences of residents in Hamlet 1A.

Upon receiving the information, the Tan Ky District Military Command, in coordination with the local authorities, cordoned off and secured the site, preventing people from approaching the bomb.

On the morning of July 20th, the Tan Ky District Military Command, in coordination with the Engineering Battalion of the Provincial Military Command, excavated and removed the bomb from the site, transporting it to a safe location for detonation.

The bomb disposal operation was carried out using proper techniques, ensuring absolute safety for people's lives and property.
