In 2005, the service sector accounted for 60% of the total added value in the area, but it increased to 63.5% in 2013 and 65.57% in 2015. In the first 5 months of 2016, the city's service sector still accounted for over 65%.

This is considered the industry with the largest contribution to the city's economy. The strongly developed service sector deserves to be the driving force for the development of the city as well as the province.

Service industries with high growth rates are trade, tourism, hotels and restaurants, transportation, post and telecommunications, and tourism services.

Transportation activities have had a good growth in revenue and volume of passenger and cargo transport. Financial, banking and insurance services have developed quite well, creating stability and supporting production and business activities in the city.

The second is industry and construction. The service and industry-construction sectors account for nearly 98.3% of total added value.
