Proposed 18 members of the 14th National Assembly Standing Committee

The number of Standing Committee members is proposed to be equal to that of the 13th term, including 1 National Assembly Chairman, 4 Vice Chairmen and 13 Committee members.

On the afternoon of July 20, Chairwoman of the 13th National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, presented a Report on the number of Vice Chairmen and members of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

The number of members of the 14th National Assembly Standing Committee is 18, including: the National Assembly Chairman, 4 National Assembly Vice Chairmen (including 1 Permanent Vice Chairman assisting the Chairman in ethnic affairs, foreign affairs, and socio-cultural affairs; 1 Vice Chairman assisting the Chairman in the fields of economics, finance, science, technology, and environment; 1 Vice Chairman assisting in the fields of law and justice; 1 Vice Chairman assisting in the fields of national defense and security).

Before the 11th session, the 13th National Assembly completed the leadership positions of the National Assembly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan was elected as Chairwoman of the National Assembly. The 4 Vice Chairwomen include: Ms. Tong Thi Phong, Mr. Do Ba Ty, Mr. Phung Quoc Hien, Mr. Uong Chu Luu.

The report also proposed to elect 13 members of the National Assembly Standing Committee. The members will hold the following positions: Chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs; Chairman of the Ethnic Council; Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment; Chairman of the Economic Committee; Chairman of the Committee on Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children; Chairman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee; Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee; Head of the People's Aspirations Committee; Chairman of the Law Committee; Chairman of the Judiciary Committee; Head of the National Assembly Office; Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee; Chairman of the National Defense and Security Committee.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that, in accordance with legal regulations and central government announcements, competent authorities have promptly carried out procedures, selected and introduced personnel to submit to the National Assembly for election and consideration and approval in accordance with the Party and State's personnel work procedures.

“With the requirement of ensuring the Party's leadership while promoting responsibility and democracy in the activities of the National Assembly, I request that delegates carefully study the submission and accompanying documents on personnel to decide on personnel elections with good results,” said the National Assembly Chairman.

According to the agenda, in the working session on the morning of July 21, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan will present a report on the proposed personnel for the National Assembly to elect the National Assembly Chairman, Vice Chairman, and members of the National Assembly Standing Committee. Voting for the above positions will take place in the afternoon of the same day. The voting results will be announced on the morning of July 22.
