Launching the 3rd Central Press Football Tournament 2016

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 29, in Vinh city (Nghe An), the Organizing Committee of the 3rd Central Press Football Tournament 2016 held a press conference and drew lots to divide the teams participating in the tournament.

The Central Press Football Tournament was established in 2014, the founding unit of the tournament is the Thua Thien Hue Press Alliance. The tournament is organized to strengthen the close relationship between the press teams in the provinces and cities of the Central region through sports activities; creating opportunities for exchanges and meetings between reporters, journalists and leaders of central and local press agencies from Thanh Hoa to Khanh Hoa on the occasion of the anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day June 21.

The organizing committee conducted a draw to divide the first group into 8 teams participating in the tournament.

After 2 years of organization, the tournament is truly a useful playground, strengthening solidarity among journalists in the Central region... 2016 is the 3rd year of the tournament, hosted by Nghe An Press Alliance (Reigning Champion).

This year’s tournament has the participation of 8 teams from the following localities: Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang. These are localities with strong football movements, so the tournament promises to be very attractive and dramatic.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the 3rd Central Press Football Tournament 2016 conducted a draw, 8 teams were divided into 2 groups.

Accordingly, Group A includes the following teams: Nghe An Press Alliance, Ha Tinh Press Alliance, Thanh Hoa Press Alliance and Nghe Tinh Press;

Group B includes the teams of Nghe An Radio and Television Station, Da Nang Press Alliance, Hanoi Press Alliance and Thua Thien Hue Press Alliance.

The tournament will officially open on June 4, and will take place over two days, June 4-5. The teams will compete in a round-robin format, scoring points, and selecting the top two teams from each group to compete in the final match. The competition rules are according to the 7-a-side football rules issued by the Vietnam Football Federation.

During the tournament, players from each team will carry out meaningful social activities such as raising funds to support fishermen, visiting and giving gifts to families in difficult circumstances.
