Musician An Thuyen will 'anchor at the hometown wharf' in Vinh on the night of June 25

(Baonghean.vn) - To commemorate the talented and gallant musician of Vietnamese music, the family and relatives of the late musician An Thuyen will organize two musical nights to mark the first anniversary of his passing, and also as a token of their gratitude for the love and admiration that the large audience has always had for him.

It can be said that remembering musician An Thuyen is not only remembering a talented musician, but also remembering a soldier, a great personality in the Vietnamese art world who grew up with a passionate love for his homeland and people. It has been a year since musician An Thuyen returned to his homeland, but the image of the moonlight imbued in each verse of the song "Ca dao em va toi" of that year is still deeply imprinted in the hearts of millions of Vietnamese music lovers.

Musician An Thuyen always wishes to return to his homeland, to return to the deep feelings of the people of Nghe An.

The last song he wrote was also the song “When will I return to my hometown pond” like a painful question of a son far from home. Therefore, his relatives, friends and students decided to return to his hometown to organize a music night with the theme “Anchoring at the hometown wharf”.

The music night “Neo doi wharf que” was held at the Cultural House of Military Zone 4, Vinh city on June 25, right after the first anniversary of his death, as a way to fulfill the wish of musician An Thuyen to return to his homeland, to return to the deep feelings that the people of Nghe An had for their outstanding son.

The music night in Vinh is a free music night, and will be a gathering of relatives, friends, students and people who love An Thuyen's music such as Quang Linh, Meritorious Artist Tan Minh, Vu Thang Loi, Thanh Le, Thuy Mien, Hong Ngoc, Dong Hung, Quynh Trang, Military Region 4 Art Troupe, White Lotus Theater. With elaborate staging and the participation of artists: Production Director - Musician An Hieu, Director: Singer Bong Mai - two children of musician An Thuyen, directly building the "foundation" and program framework. Musicians include: Tran Manh Hung, Do Bao, Duong Cam, Son Thach, Hoang Anh Minh. Backdground band, VK backing group, choreographer Phung Khai, JoJo (Thailand), SINE dance group, Kben dance group, ethnic orchestra, White Lotus Experimental Theater, ... will bring the audience a music night full of emotions and tranquility.

The second music night with the more special theme “Moon” will not take place at a theater but will be held on the evening of July 2, 2016 at Bai Dinh Pagoda (Ninh Binh). The poetic and simple image of “Moon” immediately reminds people of the image of musician An Thuyen, especially when he was born on the full moon day of the eighth lunar month. The reason musician An Thuyen’s family organized the second music night at Bai Dinh Pagoda is because this is a large, sacred pagoda, a harmonious blend of Earth and Heaven. His loved ones all hope to meet him here, to listen with him to the feelings that relatives and friends have for the musician who devoted his whole life to art.
