Nghe An improves product and goods quality management

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 13, the Provincial People's Committee held a workshop on solutions to improve the effectiveness of state management of product and goods quality in Nghe An province. Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the workshop.

In recent times, Departments, branches and District People's Committees have focused on training and fostering professional skills for staff, investing in upgrading technical facilities to serve quality management for conformity assessment organizations.

At the same time, the Departments, branches and District People's Committees also focused on specialized inspection and examination work and initially had effective coordination. Through inspection and examination, many violations were detected, strictly handled and publicly announced in newspapers and radio. 70,240 establishments were inspected, of which 19,749 establishments violated, fined more than 24 billion VND; confiscated and destroyed goods worth nearly 38 billion VND. Inspection and examination work and coordination in inspection and examination of product quality, goods and food safety and hygiene were strengthened.

Activities to improve productivity and quality of products and goods have achieved certain results, creating positive changes, encouraging businesses to invest in advanced and modern technology, apply advanced quality management tools and systems, register barcodes, protect industrial property, gradually build and affirm their brands, productivity and quality of products and goods have been significantly improved, some products meet the needs of the domestic and export markets.

At the workshop, representatives of the Departments of Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, Finance, etc. spoke about the current state management of product and goods quality in the industry. Some opinions suggested that the province's inter-sectoral agencies should strictly control the input quality of all types of products to limit the consumption of poor quality products, fake goods, and counterfeit goods in the area, affecting the health of consumers.

The inspection and examination contents were conducted with focus and emphasis, a large number of inspections were conducted, violations were handled promptly and in accordance with the law, thereby creating trust among consumers and businesses, contributing to market stability.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien emphasized: Currently, the change in state management activities on product and goods quality in the area is still very low. In the coming time, it is necessary to focus on implementing Decision No. 44/2016/QD-UBND dated June 11, 2016 of the Provincial People's Committee promulgating the Regulations on assignment of responsibilities and coordination in state management on product and goods quality in Nghe An province. Accordingly, overcome the shortcomings in management work, quality management system, clearly define the responsibilities of each sector; each sector must have a department to monitor the quality work of its sector.

Product quality is a major concern of consumers.

Sectors at all levels must review their quality management work to get involved closely and regularly. The Department of Science and Technology is requested to rectify activities in this field, and at the same time review facilities capable of assessing the quality of products and goods to better coordinate activities.
