According to the Financial Times, Mr. Cameron will leave office today at the age of 49, becoming the youngest former prime minister in more than 120 years in Britain with a largely unfinished domestic agenda.
He will hand over the keys to his successor, Theresa May, after he visits Buckingham Palace to greet Queen Elizabeth II.
A blue van arrived at 10 Downing Street in London yesterday afternoon, loaded with large cardboard boxes. A delivery man revealed the equipment they were carrying: 30 boxes, 30 rolls of tape and three rolls of bubble wrap. Several assistants carried bags in and out of the office.
The Camerons had a day to pack up their belongings and move out of the apartment they had spent thousands of dollars redecorating and turning into a family home. Their youngest child, Florence, was born just months after they moved in.
Mr Cameron's biggest worry now is finding a new home for his wife and three children, as their house in west London is rented out, although tenants were given advance notice.

His income will also be cut sharply, from £143,000 to £74,000. He plans to remain a member of Parliament until 2020. The close group of aides who have worked for Cameron for many years will remain with him, albeit informally.
Mrs Cameron, meanwhile, plans to focus on developing her own fashion label after the success of her luxury leather goods company. However, a friend said Mr Cameron would first take his family on holiday to reflect on what he wanted to do.
Mr Cameron announced his resignation after the majority of Britons voted to leave the EU. His departure came earlier than expected as Mrs May yesterday became the sole candidate for the prime minister's seat.
