Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh - a fish seller in Nghia Minh commune, Nghia Dan said: Sao river fish has firm and delicious meat so people love to buy it. Every day I come to the wharf twice to wait to buy fish to sell, each time I come here, I can only get 10kg, otherwise only 5kg. When I bring it to the market, people compete to buy it all. It's sunny, the demand for fish is higher while the catch is lower so we have to wait forever. Every day, fishing boats can only catch 2-3 quintals of fish.

Bring the fish ashore

Every day in Song Sao Lake there are 5 to 6 fishing boats. The fishermen's work starts from 3am to 6am bringing fish in; then they continue fishing until 1pm.

Mr. Hoang Van Duong, a fisherman in Hamlet 8, Nghia Lam Commune, said: I have been fishing here for many years. The work is quite hard because most of the time is spent on the lake, especially on hot days like this. On a good day, I catch 70 kg, and on other days, I only catch 20 kg. On hot days, the catch decreases. I earn about 4-5 million VND per month from this job.
