Over 40,000 poultry eggs of unknown origin were destroyed.

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 19th, the Livestock and Veterinary Station of Dien Chau district organized the destruction of 40,800 chicken and quail eggs of unknown origin.

Earlier, at 5:00 AM on July 17th, at kilometer 418 of National Highway 1A, in Dien Hong commune, a traffic control patrol team (Dien Chau Traffic Police Station) spotted a car with license plate 20B-00369 traveling in the South-North direction with suspicious signs, so they signaled the vehicle to stop for inspection.

All the seized poultry eggs had no verifiable origin.

During the inspection, authorities discovered that the vehicle was carrying 40 trays containing 40,000 quail eggs and 8 trays containing 800 chicken eggs. The driver, Nguyen Xuan Truong, born in 1968, residing at Group 8, Hoang Van Thu Ward, Thai Nguyen City (Thai Nguyen Province), was unable to present any documents proving the origin or quarantine certificates from the relevant authorities.

Authorities destroyed the seized eggs.

According to the driver's confession, he was hired to transport these eggs from Thai Nguyen City (Thai Nguyen Province) to Vinh City for sale. The Dien Chau Traffic Police Station seized the eggs and handed them over to the Dien Chau District Livestock and Veterinary Station for handling.

All of the aforementioned eggs were fertilized duck eggs, many of them broken and emitting a foul odor. Therefore, the Dien Chau Livestock and Veterinary Station proceeded to destroy all of the eggs in accordance with the law.
