The National Assembly will have supreme supervision over food safety and administrative reform.

The National Assembly will supervise the implementation of policies and laws on food safety and reform of the State administrative apparatus.

This afternoon, the National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution on the National Assembly's Supervisory Activities Program in 2017 with 473/481 delegates voting in favor (accounting for 95.75% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).

Resolution by Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc, on supreme supervision,at the 3rd SessionThe National Assembly will consider and discuss the Government's supplementary report on the assessment of the results of the implementation of socio-economic development tasks and the State budget in 2016; the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the State budget in the first months of 2017; the 2015 State budget settlement report and other reports of relevant agencies as prescribed.

Review the report on the results of monitoring the settlement of voters' petitions sent to the 2nd Session of the 14th National Assembly. Conduct questions and answers at the National Assembly session.

The National Assembly will also supervise the implementation of food safety laws and policies in the 2011-2016 period.

At the 4th sessionThe National Assembly will review and discuss the Government's Report on the implementation of the 2017 socio-economic development plan and State budget; review and discuss the work reports of the Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the State Audit; reports of the Government, the Supreme People's Court, and the Supreme People's Procuracy on the settlement of complaints and denunciations; reports of the Government on the implementation of the Constitution, laws, and resolutions of the National Assembly; reports of the Government on the prevention and combat of corruption, the practice of thrift, and the fight against waste; on the prevention and combat of crimes, violations of the law, and the execution of judgments.

Implementation of national goals on gender equality, reports of relevant agencies as prescribed by law.

The National Assembly will consider the report of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the implementation of the supervision recommendations of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Nationalities Council, the National Assembly Committees, the National Assembly delegations and National Assembly deputies. Consider the report on the results of the supervision of the settlement of voters' recommendations sent to the 3rd session of the 14th National Assembly.

Also in the 4th session, there will be questioning and answering of questions from National Assembly deputies; Thematic supervision on the implementation of legal policies to reform the State administrative apparatus in the period 2011-2016.

The Resolution clearly states: Based on the National Assembly's supervision program, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Nationalities Council, and the National Assembly Committees shall develop and implement their own supervision programs and organize accountability activities at the Council and Committees. National Assembly delegations and National Assembly members shall, based on actual conditions and situations, proactively select content to develop programs, coordinate and conduct supervision activities, and report results according to regulations.

The National Assembly assigned the National Assembly Standing Committee to preside over and coordinate the implementation of the resolution on the National Assembly's supervision program in 2017; direct and coordinate the supervision activities of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council and Committees; guide the delegations of National Assembly deputies and National Assembly deputies in implementing supervision activities; direct continued research to innovate and improve the quality and effectiveness of supervision activities; direct the monitoring, urging, and synthesizing the results of resolving recommendations after supervision; synthesize and report the results of the implementation of the supervision program.

Relevant central and local agencies and organizations are responsible for closely cooperating with National Assembly agencies, National Assembly supervisory delegations, National Assembly delegations, and National Assembly deputies in supervisory activities, reporting and providing complete, timely, and accurate information and documents related to supervisory content as requested by the supervisory agency.

Agencies subject to supervision must fully, promptly and seriously implement recommendations after supervision and report implementation results to the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.
