The Ministry of Health and Vietnam Social Security have discussed to continue increasing hospital fees from August 1, which is one month more than the previous roadmap of increasing from July 1 and also different from the previous roadmap of not increasing on a large scale.

In the immediate future, the increase in hospital fees will be applied in 10 provinces and cities where the number of people participating in health insurance is high, 90-95%.

The new hospital fees, effective from August 1, include doctors' salaries. The hospital fees include allowances and salaries, and will continue to be expanded in 10 localities.

With the new collection rate, the price of 1,900 medical services will increase sharply, especially services with large structures for medical human resources.

Previously, from March 1, all 1,400 hospitals nationwide collected hospital fees at the new level, including surgery and procedure allowances, and direct costs for patients. Only fully autonomous hospitals (most central hospitals and some provincial hospitals) collected hospital fees including doctors' salaries.
