Explore before you commit, find more people to share your passion with, and don't try to create something perfect from the beginning are the lessons that brought success to Mark Zuckerberg.

Facebook - the most used social network today and with a total capitalization of more than 340 billion USD was founded 13 years ago, starting with the idea "thefacebook.com" of 19-year-old student Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook has created a revolution in connecting people and is a source of inspiration for many young entrepreneurs.

Mark Zuckerberg has emerged as a pioneering entrepreneur in today's technology era. Many young people in the process of building their own businesses always want to learn from Zuckerberg's experience.

1. Explore before you commit

In a 2012 talk at Y Combinator's startup school, Zuckerberg stressed to founder Paul Graham that entrepreneurs need to be agile and passionate about whatever they pursue.

“You can absolutely work within the company, but you will feel tired and locked in.” That was also expressed in Zuckerberg’s first letter to shareholders. For him, Facebook was never meant to be a company. It was simply a hobby. Over time, it grew into a business.

If you want to be an entrepreneur, you need good ideas. If they solve small problems, that's great. But Zuckerberg believes that it also needs to have a big impact on society. In a talk with a group of young people, Zuckerberg said that to have a big impact, you first need to change what you do. He encouraged them to explore, find what they love and focus on that.

Lesson: Open yourself up to learning new things but only pursue what you love..

2. Don't try to be superman

Mistakes are good and necessary lessons in the development of every entrepreneur. During a live Q&A, an 8th grader asked Mark Zuckerberg how he overcame the challenges of growing Facebook every day. He replied: “Nobody knows how to deal with everything. But if you can find a group of people, whether it’s friends or family… that’s really how you get through it.”

Many people want to be entrepreneurs but are afraid of risks and mistakes. Zuckerberg believes that only with strong support from people around you and those who share your views, every mistake is appreciated and is a valuable lesson.“You don't have to be superman, you just have to keep going.”

Lesson: Starting a business is a long road and you shouldn't go it alone, find people who share your passion.

3. Done is better than perfect

At Facebook’s Menlo Park, California, headquarters, the slogan “done is better than perfect” is printed on an interior wall as a sort of company mantra. In other words, it’s better to make something than to make it perfect from the start.

After the 2012 IPO, Zuckerberg explained the philosophy of the slogan as “The Hacker Way.” “Instead of debating every day whether a new idea is viable or what the best way to build something is, hackers just build something and see if it works.”

By doing this, Facebook creates an optimistic work culture that allows them to test their limits and say, “This will get better.”

Lesson: Instead of trying to perfect something from the start, create it and continually test and improve the limits.
