For Singaporean foodies, money is no object when it comes to fine dining. However, even foodies would be hesitant to part with US$2 million (S$2.7 million) for the world’s most expensive dinner.
Russia's World of Diamonds (WOD) group and Singapore's CÉ LA VI restaurant are advertising an eight-hour, $2 million luxury dinner for two, according to Channel News Asia.
Diners will experience a journey by air, land and sea before enjoying an 18-course modern Asian dinner and receiving a 2.08-carat diamond ring.
The experience begins with a 45-minute helicopter flight over Singapore’s city, followed by a scenic ride in a Rolls-Royce and a luxury yacht cruise. Finally, two lucky guests will enjoy a lavish dinner at CÉ LA Vi restaurant on the rooftop of the Marina Bay Sands hotel.
The setting is decorated with 10,000 beautiful roses. Diners can enjoy panoramic views of Singapore from above, enjoy live music, and experience 18 delicacies including fresh Belon oysters with champagne, Almas caviar, wild Alaskan salmon flown in by air and grilled Mishima beef tenderloin.
In addition, diners can enjoy world-class wines such as Salon 'S' 1998, a bottle of Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2008 and a bottle of Oremus Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos 1972, sip Louis XIII de Rémy Martin cognac and admire the spectacular fireworks display.

More specifically, the diamond-studded chopsticks that the diners use will have their names engraved on them. The dining table set was also custom-made by the famous interior designer The Plush for the two lucky people.
The 2.08-carat Jane Seymour Blue Diamond (estimated value $2 million) will be auctioned off at midnight. Created to honor the achievements of actress Jane Seymour, it is the only one of its kind in the world and has never been owned before. The blue diamond is one of the rarest and most sought-after in the world in terms of size and saturation.
After all, diners can stay overnight at the hotel if they wish.
“This could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a special occasion or simply a celebration of a lifetime,” says Karan Tilani, director of WOD Group.
David Sarner, CEO of CÉ LA VI Singapore restaurant, added: "At CÉ LA VI, we always create unique experiences that stimulate the senses, elevate the spirit, promote passion and pursue joy. This is the pinnacle of all experiences."
However, even if diners are willing to shell out big bucks for the fancy meal, they still need to meet a few other requirements to become the lucky two. According to the organizers, the experience is only available to individuals who meet the criteria for both WOD and CÉ LA VI.
