Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung requested an inspection of Formosa's waste burial.
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has just requested the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to urgently coordinate with the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to inspect the waste burial of Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation.
According to local residents, recently, trucks carrying waste from the Formosa Ha Tinh project site (Vung Ang Economic Zone) have been dumped into Mr. Hoa's farm (in Ky Trinh ward). This waste is black, liquid, and has a strong foul odor. After the trucks have dumped the waste, excavators have dug up the soil to level it. The farm is surrounded by a system of cajuput trees. This farm is far from residential areas but is located upstream of the Tri River - which provides domestic water for local residents.
