Em Nguyễn Thị Hải.
I am Phan Thi Hai.

On the morning of July 3, Mr. Cao Xuan Cong, Secretary of the Son Commune Youth Union, said: "Hai is the second child in a family of two brothers. Hai is a student who overcame difficulties and studied well for many years in a row when he was in middle school and high school. He is a student in the top group of excellent students who actively participate in social activities at the Foreign Trade University. We are currently sending a force of youth union members to help the family. This afternoon (July 3), we will bring his body back to his hometown and organize a funeral. At the same time, we will encourage and visit Hai's parents."

On his personal Facebook, before leaving for volunteer work, Hai wrote: "These days in Hanoi are hotter than ever. Because the blazing sun shines through each red-burning royal poinciana flower petal, or because each person feels an invisible fire burning in their heart, urging them to move forward."

Relatives said that on June 29, Hai had just finished his semester exam and called his family to say: I will stay here to volunteer to help students and people in Binh Lieu district and then return home for summer vacation. On the way to the village in Binh Lieu, Hai also confided to his friends: "I will dedicate my youth to this life".

A friend of Hien confided: "Hai's father is a worker, his mother runs a market to sell to support her children's education. Hai is a very good student and always takes care of others. When preparing for the high school graduation exam, he was worried that his friends would not pass, so Hai called his friends to his house to tutor and help them all graduate. Hai is a gentle, hard-working person and always gives his all, a role model for us to follow."

It is expected that this afternoon (July 3), Hai's body will be brought back to his hometown (in hamlet 9, Hoi Son commune).

Previously, on June 21, in Hanoi, the Foreign Trade University Youth Union organized the 2016 Green Summer Campaign Launch Ceremony with 20 volunteer teams to remote communes with many material and spiritual difficulties. The volunteer teams focused on activities and tasks that contributed to socio-economic development, ensuring social security, building new rural areas, and urban civilization.

Hai, a second-year student at Hanoi Foreign Trade University, volunteered to help villagers in Binh Lieu district, Quang Ninh.

At 5:00 p.m. on July 2, while a group of students were doing volunteer work at Pac Hooc Bridge (Binh Lieu Town, Binh Lieu District), a sudden flood came. Hai and three volunteer students were suddenly swept away by the flood. One student was rescued, while Hai and two other students were missing.

By early morning of July 3, the search and rescue team of Quang Ninh province had recovered the bodies of Hai and two students, Nguyen Thi Ngan (born in 1997, Hometown: Hanoi) and Vu Thi Xoa (born in 1996, Hometown: Hai Duong).

In the immediate future, Quang Ninh province will support the families of each victim who died due to the flood with 6 million VND; Binh Lieu district will support the families of each victim with 6 million VND.
