At the police station, Thanh confessed that he had just drunk alcohol and used crystal meth, which led to hallucinations.

It is known that Thanh is a bad person who was sentenced by the Dak Lak Provincial People's Court to more than 6 years in prison for "Intentionally causing injury". In February 2015, Thanh was released from prison but refused to work hard and often gathered with bad friends to organize drinking parties and use drugs.
