Announcement of the audit decision for 54 units and projects in Nghe An.

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 15th, the People's Committee of Nghe An province, in coordination with the State Audit Office Region II, organized a conference to announce the decision on the audit of the 2015 local budget of Nghe An province.

Attending the conference were: Mr. Hoang Hong Lac, Deputy Auditor General of the State Audit Office; Mr. Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Chief Auditor of the State Audit Office Region II; along with representatives from relevant departments and agencies; leaders of several districts and towns; and project management boards in the province.

Overview of the conference

Representatives of the State Audit Office announced the Decision on the Audit of the 2015 Local Budget of Nghe An Province.

Representatives from the auditing sector announced the decision to establish a State Audit Team in Nghe An province covering 31 units. Starting on July 18, 2016, the team will conduct audits at the following units over a period of 60 days: the Department of Finance, the Department of Planning and Investment, the Tax Department, and the State Treasury; and eight localities including Thai Hoa town, Quynh Luu district, Hoang Mai town, Nghi Loc district, Quy Chau district, Nghia Dan district, Cua Lo town, and Nam Dan district. In addition, the team will audit the following units: Nghe An Radio and Television Station, the Department of Education and its affiliated units, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and its affiliated units, and the Department of Transport and its affiliated units.

Mr. Hoang Hong Lac, Deputy Auditor General of the State Audit Office, affirmed: This year, the focus will be on auditing budget expenditures, detecting corruption and waste in budget utilization, and assessing the public debt of localities.

In addition, the delegation will conduct an audit of capital construction investment with 23 specific projects at 14 project management boards in the districts of Yen Thanh, Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Hung Nguyen, and Dien Chau; the project management boards for investment in construction projects for flood and storm prevention and mitigation in Ky Son district; the rural and mountainous development board in Ky Son district; and the model construction management board for settlements for fishing households on the Lam River and in particularly difficult areas of Thanh Chuong district...

Representatives from the auditing sector requested that the Provincial People's Committee issue a directive to the localities and sectors audited in 2015 to prepare complete documentation and create the most favorable conditions for the audit team's activities.

Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong stated clearly: Nghe An will create all the most favorable conditions for the audit team to successfully complete its task.

On behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman Dinh Viet Hong requested that all departments, agencies, units, and project management boards audited in 2015 seriously comply with the decision, proactively cooperate to provide relevant documents and reports, and create favorable conditions for the audit team to successfully complete its task.

During this period, inspections by other inspection teams such as the State Inspectorate, Provincial Inspectorate, etc., will be postponed to prioritize the work of the audit team. The Department of Finance is tasked with coordinating with the audit team to gather proposals and recommendations from units and localities in order to develop appropriate solutions.
