Nghe An: Couple dies in house fire

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 15, the Criminal Techniques Department of Nghe An Provincial Police and Vinh City Police are conducting a crime scene investigation and investigation into the house fire that killed Mr. Ho Van Canh (born in 1929) and his wife, Tran Thi Thiu (born in 1929), in Phong Dang hamlet (Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city).

At around 9:00 p.m. on June 14, residents of Phong Dang hamlet saw smoke and fire rising fiercely, then the cement tile roof exploded from Mr. Canh and Mrs. Thiu's house.

People ran to break the door and called the fire truck to put out the fire and save the homeowner couple. However, the fire had already flared up fiercely, and after putting out the fire, both Mr. Canh and Mrs. Thiu died.

At the scene, furniture and household items were burned to ashes, and the cement roof was severely damaged. It is known that Mr. Canh and Mrs. Thiu have no children, are in difficult circumstances, and are considered a poor household.

Mr. Chu Huy Hai, Deputy Chief of Hung Hoa Commune Police, said: “Immediately after the incident, Vinh City Police and Nghe An Provincial Police came to examine and investigate the cause of the house fire that led to the deaths of Mr. Canh and Ms. Thiu. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

It is known that for the past two years, Mrs. Thiu has been bedridden due to poor health, and Mr. Canh stays home every day to take care of his wife. After the fire, authorities and relatives discovered that some documents, red books (GCNQSDĐ) and 1.8 million VND were not burned or damaged.

On the morning of June 15, local authorities and relatives are holding a funeral for Canh and his wife, Ms. Thiu.
