Flight crew members of foreign airlines will be exempted from visas during their duty in Vietnam.

On July 21, the Government issued a Resolution on visa exemption for flight crew members of foreign airlines operating in Vietnam on a reciprocal basis.

Accordingly, flight crew members of foreign airlines are exempted from visas regardless of nationality on flights of that airline to and from Vietnam. The list of exemptions also includes flight crew members of foreign airlines operating in Vietnam traveling to or from Vietnam on commercial flights or other means of transport, one of which is for duty.

Flight crew members are allowed to temporarily reside and travel throughout the entire territory of Vietnam (except for areas where travel is prohibited or restricted according to Vietnamese law), while waiting for departure on the next arriving flight or regular flight.

Flight crew members of visa-exempt airlines must present a passport valid for at least 6 months, a valid flight crew card and a confirmation letter from the airline stating their duties on the airline's flights.
