The incident occurred on flight VJ726 from Da Nang to Hai Phong on the afternoon of June 8. As the plane was taxiing to the runway, the flight attendants performed instructions to ensure safety for passengers on the flight. Just a moment later, passenger NPN, born in 1980, in seat number 3F, took out the life jacket under his seat and tore the outer bag.
When the passenger was handed over to the Northern Airports Authority for handling, he said that he had torn his life jacket because he did not understand the regulations and did not know the harmful effects of his actions. He also said that he was working at a Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Life jackets are one of the indispensable safety equipment on civil flights, stored in the pocket under the seat or in the compartment next to the seat. This equipment is only used in case of an emergency landing on water. Before each flight, flight attendants must check to ensure that the number of life jackets is not less than the number of people on the flight. If there is a shortage of life jackets, the flight crew is forced to cut off passengers to ensure safety. |
