Agriculture is one of the areas that Que Phong pays special attention to. Comrade Lu Dinh Thi - Secretary of Que Phong District Party Committee said: "Proposing the Resolution of the District Party Congress, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee determined that it is necessary to develop agriculture comprehensively, effectively and sustainably; promote the close connection of "4 houses" (farmers, scientists, businesses, the state). On that basis, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee has proposed many important projects and directed specialized agencies to effectively implement them".

In Que Phong, passion fruit is often called the tree that helps people escape poverty. Starting to be planted in Tri Le commune since 2010, Que Phong district now has more than 150 hectares of passion fruit and has proven its economic efficiency when it brings income many times higher than other crops on the same area.

The coordination between four parties (farmers, scientists, businessmen, and the government) helps stabilize people's economic life.

Mr. Lo Van Diep - Secretary of the Tri Le Commune Party Committee said: "In 2010, the commune piloted planting 2 hectares of passion fruit. Up to now, after more than 5 years, the whole commune has more than 120 hectares. Passion fruit has become the main crop of the commune, not only helping people escape poverty, stabilize their lives but also become well-off and rich. The Resolution of the 21st Que Phong District Party Congress sets the goal of bringing the area of ​​passion fruit planting in Tri Le commune to 350 hectares by 2020. Therefore, the local Party Committee and authorities are also making efforts to deploy technical training and support all necessary conditions for people to grow passion fruit and develop the economy."

According to Mr. Lo Van Diep, currently, besides passion fruit, Tri Le people have also started to grow watermelon and Mong peach. Although it is only a trial planting in some places with a small scale, the initial signs show positive economic signs.

In addition, Que Phong also focuses on producing japonia rice varieties to increase productivity for the people. In the beginning, the district supported people with 50% of the price of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides. Up to now, many households in Muong Noc, Tri Le, Chau Kim and Tien Phong communes have switched to growing Japonica rice, increasing the total area of ​​this rice variety to 250 hectares in the spring crop of 2016, each rice flower has 180 - 190 grains, with an estimated yield of 1,500 tons.

The People's Committee of Que Phong district has also approved a project to produce high-quality specialty rice from production to consumption, and at the same time, bring this product to participate in trade promotion at fairs. From there, it opens up a new production direction, helping people change their perception of agricultural production, in line with the market mechanism, promoting advantages to increase income on the same area unit.

By synchronously deploying solutions and effectively implementing economic models, Que Phong district is considered a promising locality in economic development in the highlands.
