The sports torch was chosen as the official logo of the 2016 Phu Dong Sports Festival.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 20, Subcommittee 1, the Organizing Committee of the Phu Dong Sports Festival organized the review and approval of the Logo for the 9th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2016.

The logo design contest for the National Phu Dong Sports Festival began in early May 2016 for all professional and non-professional artists nationwide. Accordingly, the logo must have content, form, color and meaning that meet the requirements of the Phu Dong Sports Festival, be suitable for the characteristics of sports for high school students, and demonstrate the cultural characteristics of the two provinces of Nghe An and Thanh Hoa.

In addition, the logo color must be harmonious, easy to recognize and remember, convenient for printing and propaganda.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Deputy Head of Propaganda Department gave comments on the logos.

With 6 entries, after discussion and secret ballot, the Organizing Committee decided to select 3 logos for the final round. In which, the logo with the highest number of votes was created by author Tran Giang Nam from Ho Chi Minh City.

With the image of a sports torch, this is a logo that is assessed to meet all the criteria set by the Organizing Committee. In which, the overall logo represents the spirit of healthy school sports for good study of students nationwide. In which, the blooming lotus symbolizes the homeland of beloved Uncle Ho and symbolizes the national flower of Vietnam.

The image of the Lac bird flying high represents the movement of students nationwide practicing sports to study well, and also represents the locality of Thanh Hoa co-organizing; the pink color symbolizes the spirit of healthy sports, the green color represents the youth, health and determination of students when coming to the health festival.

The remaining two logos are by Nguyen Phuoc Duc and Nguyen Tri Toan, also artists from Ho Chi Minh City.

The author's logo features the image of a blooming lotus flower, the majestic Ho Dynasty Citadel and five connecting circles representing school sports.

The stylized lotus logo symbolizes unity, the will to rise and the noble spirit of sportsmanship.

According to the plan, the official prize will be awarded a certificate and 7,000,000 VND. The secondary prize will be awarded a certificate and a prize of 2,000,000 VND. Before being used as the official logo for the National Phu Dong Sports Festival, the logo will continue to be adjusted in some content to suit the requirements set out.
