2 Vietnamese crew members murdered Korean captain

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 23, the People's Committee of Quynh Long Commune (Quynh Luu) received official dispatch No. 89/CV-LOD from LOD Human Resources Development Joint Stock Company regarding the crime committed by two local crew members on board.

Accordingly, on June 20, LOD Human Resources Development Joint Stock Company received urgent information from a Korean agent that two drunken crew members used knives to kill the captain and chief engineer on the Guang Hyun No 803 ship while the ship was fishing off the coast of the Seychelles Islands in the Indian Ocean.

The two men attacked were the captain of the Kwang Hyun 803, surnamed Yang, 43, and a 42-year-old engineer surnamed Kang, at around 2 a.m. on June 20.

Currently, the ship, 2 crew members have been arrested by the police for questioning to assist in the investigation. The information of the two crew members above is identified as Vu Van Mich (born in 1984), passport number B5136588 and Bui Van Hong (born in 1984) passport number B5811190, both residing in Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province. The two crew members above left and entered the ship Guang Hyun No 803 from February 10, 2015.

It is known that the suspects will be escorted to Korea for investigation. Lod Company said that currently, the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate with the coast guard and local authorities in the investigation process and carry out the necessary legal procedures when the ship docks.
