Touch the heart and awaken the mind
((Baonghean)-A person who does missionary work must have a lot of experience. Because only through experience can one contemplate to discover and recognize the nature of things and problems, and experience will help words become persuasive, move the hearts and awaken the minds of the recipients.
Propaganda work is propaganda work, ideological work. The tools of propaganda work are words and materialized forms of words such as writing, images that directly impact the mind and heart of the recipient. Our people have a saying "words are like the wind", "words are worthless", so speaking to make people listen, believe and follow is not easy. That is why there is a saying "speaking with a book", which means speaking must have a speaking strategy, speaking methodically, suitable for each object, each event, each field, each stage, with solid, sharp and perceptive arguments, based on both theory and practice. And speaking with pure and sincere feelings, to move the heart and awaken reason. If we can do that, propaganda work will become an invisible force but with extremely great destructive power that no material weapon can replace.

One piece of evidence can be cited here for the above argument. On the afternoon of July 29, Noi Bai airport in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City were attacked by hackers, paralyzing the signboards. Check-in procedures had to be switched from electronic to manual, causing hundreds of flights to be delayed. This was a rare event and can be said to be a very dangerous sign. Online newspapers simultaneously published news, with headlines saying “hacker attack” and causing this and that, causing those who were not at the airport to witness the incident to be extremely shocked, panicked, worried, and even bewildered as if the end of the world had come. In the midst of that chaos, an article “The miracle after the attack” by author Hoang Minh Tri appeared on Vnexpress.
The article honestly and objectively mentioned what the author witnessed at Noi Bai airport, which was “The computer system was not working, the procedures were done manually. The order of flights and the boarding gates changed continuously and were only announced through the loudspeakers. Because even the airport loudspeaker system had been attacked”. But, strangely, in that seemingly chaotic scene, there was a surprising order. Almost no one complained. Everyone lined up in an orderly manner. There was no rushing and jostling as usual. Everyone was tolerant and sympathetic to each other and to the airline… Then the author explained that everyone knew that they were victims of an attack. An attack without warning. And without anyone telling anyone, everyone decided that they would unite and support each other even if only by silence… Finally, the author concluded: Before an attack, I only saw the image of a united nation. An act of vandalism, intended to create chaos, brought people together. The attackers turned off the lifeless electronic screens at Tan Son Nhat airport, but inadvertently, turned on the solidarity of the Vietnamese people. It was a failed attack. And the crowd I saw, though orderly and patient, showed how unfortunate it would be for anyone to attack this nation.
The honest information and sharp, logical and emotional analysis and arguments in the article made those who were previously uneasy about the hacker attack immediately become excited and strangely confident. Just a few hundred words turned danger into safety, changing the situation of the problem in the blink of an eye, not only reassuring the people of the whole country but also igniting pride and confidence in the hearts of every Vietnamese person. The way of speaking in the article touched the hearts and awakened the minds of millions of people. That is, igniting patriotism and helping everyone to calmly look at things in a positive way in any circumstance to strengthen faith and unite to overcome difficulties and obstacles.
Those who do propaganda work should consider it a valuable lesson, a “vivid visual teaching tool” to learn and follow. Of course, learning and then applying that lesson fluently in their work is not easy. It requires those who do propaganda work not only to have qualifications but also to be sensitive to each event, matter, and person. And they must have a strong political will to analyze, correctly and accurately identify the problem that needs to be solved and must constantly stay close to reality, increase contact, and dialogue directly with the people. Roll around and immerse yourself in real life to proactively discover, grasp, evaluate, forecast, and promptly and satisfactorily resolve problems in the thinking of the people and of the entire team of cadres and party members. Those who do propaganda work must necessarily have a lot of experience. Because only through experience can we contemplate to discover and recognize the nature of things and problems, and experience will help words become persuasive, move the hearts and awaken the minds of the recipients. And then, the missionary work will complete its mission.
