Dien Chau farmers focus on planting 9,200 hectares of summer-autumn crops

(Baonghean.vn) - After finishing the rice harvest, Dien Chau farmers have simultaneously gone to the fields to sow 9,200 hectares of summer-autumn crop to ensure timely harvest.

The total summer-autumn rice area in Dien Chau in 2016 was 9,200 hectares, of which 60% of the area was planted with high-quality pure rice varieties, the remaining 40% was planted with hybrid rice varieties. The rice varieties selected were mainly those under 110 days old that could be harvested quickly to keep up with the season.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Tam, Hamlet 4, Dien Quang, is transporting rice seedlings for his family to plant summer-autumn rice. This year, his family planted 8 sao of rice. He happily said that this year's rice crop was good, harvested on time, so the summer-autumn planting was on schedule.
