Strange: Playing music for pigs in Nghe An.
(Baonghean.vn) – The pig farm of Mr. Thai Huu Trong in Hai Lam 1 hamlet, Que Son commune, Que Phong district, with nearly a hundred pigs, is raised using a unique method – playing music for them to sleep well and gain weight effectively.
Although we had heard about it before, we were still surprised when we visited Mr. Thai Huu Trong's pig farm. Inside the well-maintained and clean barns, dozens of pigs lay sleeping peacefully. Right above the barns, he had designed a place to put his telephone, along with a speaker system playing soothing music...

Mr. Trong said: After two years working abroad, accumulating some capital and experience in livestock farming, he returned to his hometown to start his own business with a model of playing music for pigs. He learned this experience while working for a livestock farm in China.
Initially, this farming method disrupts the animals' biological rhythms. Therefore, he had to be very patient in establishing a routine for the pigs, and gradually they adapted to sleeping during the day and eating at night. The cool nighttime weather encourages the pigs to eat more and grow faster.

By raising pigs using the method of playing music for them, he saved on costs and effort, and shortened the care time by about 10-15 days.
Besides raising pigs for meat, Mr. Trong has also invested in developing a VACR (Vegetable, Animal, and Crop) model farm. Currently, his farm has about 60 pigs, 2 fish ponds, 700 poultry, 3 fattened buffaloes, and over 1 hectare of acacia trees. This integrated farm model helps him save on pig feed costs. Each year, his family raises 3 batches of pigs, each batch with 50-60 pigs; earning a net profit of about 40 million VND. In total, the income from the integrated farm brings him a profit of over 70 million VND per year.

According to Lo Van Den, Secretary of the Que Son Commune Youth Union: "Thai Huu Trong's livestock farming model is one of the few effective economic development models in the mountainous region of Que Son. In just over two years, the farm's scale has expanded significantly and generated high income. The Que Son Commune Youth Union has also organized visits for its members to Mr. Trong's model, helping young people in the commune learn from his experience in getting rich in their own hometown."
