(Baonghean.vn) - Promoting the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, many veterans in Anh Son district are exemplary in doing good business, of which Mr. Phan Van Thuat in Thang Tam village is a typical example.

In 1983, Mr. Phan Van Thuat was discharged from the army and returned to his hometown. Implementing the policy of migrating to build a new economic zone, in 1988 he and his wife left Yen Thanh to Anh Son to start a business. Without capital, he and his wife struggled to make a living in the new land. Although they did many jobs, hunger and poverty still clung to the family.

In 2005, Anh Son district had a policy to develop industrial tea trees. Realizing this was an opportunity to escape poverty, he borrowed money to reclaim land and plant 1 hectare of tea in Dinh Son commune. Thanks to his diligence and application of the correct care process, the tea grew well.

After 4 years, his family's industrial tea area began to yield regular harvests with a yield of 18 tons/ha, bringing him an income of 100 million VND per year. In addition, he also took advantage of the garden area to raise chickens and goats to improve meals and increase income for the family.

In addition to doing business, Mr. Thuat also enthusiastically participates in social activities and was elected as the village chief by the people. In 2013, Dinh Son commune had a policy to restore the Bai Phu orange brand, and as the village chief, he boldly took the lead. He invested in planting the first 500 orange trees on 1 hectare of land and mobilized 10 households in the village to implement the orange planting project on an area of ​​10 hectares. Currently, the first orange crops have begun to bear fruit, bringing in a good income for the villagers.

Promoting the role of party members in participating in the construction of new rural areas. In 2 years (2014-2015), he mobilized people to donate over 3,000 m2 of land to build 1.2 km of rural roads and 10 million VND to build a cultural house.
