(Baonghean.vn) - Nearly 60 years old, with more than 30 years of Party membership, Mr. Vu Duc Tuong is known as one of the pioneers and leaders in production and good business in Quynh Xuan ward (Hoang Mai town).

In 1981, after completing his military service and returning to his hometown, although life was still difficult and arduous, Mr. Vu Duc Tuong in Quynh Xuan ward (Hoang Mai town) always worried, thought, and found ways to do business to overcome difficulties and get rich, while setting an example for people to learn and follow.

Realizing that the locality had the advantage of having available mountains and rocks, he went to Ninh Binh to learn the lime making trade and borrowed capital to build a lime kiln. At that time, construction materials such as cement were still scarce, so the lime burning trade became effective. With his lime kiln, he initially earned high profits and solved the problem of idle agricultural labor for dozens of local farmers. From his initial model, after 1 year around the Len Chua mine area of ​​Quynh Xuan commune, there were 30 more lime kilns of other households, solving the problem of jobs and stable income for more than 300 workers.

In 2000, in addition to the lime burning business, he also invested in the mining and processing of stone and construction materials. He and 4-5 friends contributed capital and borrowed from the bank to invest in production, with a total capital of over 10 billion VND. Thanks to the application of basic techniques, his stone production line has been effective, supplying the market with 5-6 hundred blocks of various types of stone every day, creating jobs for over 20 local workers, with an income of 4-5 million VND/person/month.

Successful from the first step, after 1 year, his model was replicated with over 30 stone processing units of all kinds. Not only in Quynh Xuan, this model was also replicated in other communes, districts, and provinces, creating jobs for thousands of local workers, contributing significantly to socio-economic development and bringing a new profession to Quynh Xuan commune (now Quynh Xuan ward), which is the industry of manufacturing and processing construction materials, and thereby developing the local transportation industry. Currently, Quynh Xuan ward has over 200 large and small trucks transporting construction materials, becoming a bright spot in the town's household economy.

Now he is 60 years old, but he still does not want to rest and continues to try his hand at aquaculture. He invested tens of billions of dong in conversion, receiving land from nearly 30 households in low-lying, saline areas with an area of ​​4 hectares to raise white-leg shrimp; and cooperated with Hai Tuan Company in the area to produce shrimp seeds. This model has been effective, creating jobs for hundreds of workers, with a stable salary of 10 - 20 million dong, bringing him an income of over 2 billion dong per year.

When asked about his success in production and business, Mr. Tuong shared: "It is thanks to perseverance, patience, having to rush into work, self-study, overcome, not be discouraged by difficulties and failures, be creative in direction, not be arrogant when winning, not be discouraged when losing, to have the results like today."

In addition to developing the family economy, he also actively participates in social activities and fulfills the business's obligations to the state. He contributes billions of VND to build works in Quynh Xuan ward such as traditional houses, schools, medical stations, and internal roads. In addition, he and his family actively participate in humanitarian and charitable activities launched by the block and ward. Every year, his business pays over 3 billion VND in taxes to the state.

In particular, each year he contributes over 200 million VND to local social activities; supporting Quynh Xuan Ward with 3 projects, worth over 1 billion VND.

He is currently the Vice Chairman of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Hoang Mai town; Chairman of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Quynh Xuan ward. He has received many Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Tax Department; Emulation Soldier of the Veterans Association. Talking about his wishes, he said that he still has many big ideas that are being implemented, and wants to do many more things for his family and society.
