NATO summit not aimed at Russia

(Baonghean.vn) - Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel declared on July 9 that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit in Warsaw (Poland) is not aimed against Russia.

Mr. Bettel said that NATO needs to dialogue with Russia to resolve disagreements in bilateral relations.

“This NATO summit is not aimed against anyone. Some journalists have the impression that this summit is aimed against Russia. This is simply a NATO summit to demonstrate that we are united and working together,” said the Luxembourg Prime Minister.

Referring to the meeting of the NATO-Russia Council, which will take place on July 13, Mr. Bettel stressed that this event highlights the need for dialogue. He warned: "If we do not negotiate, we will not find a solution."

In another development on the same day, Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders announced that his country will send 150 soldiers to Lithuania to join a new NATO international battalion.
