Big Bang has been chosen as a brand ambassador for South Korea.
Thanks to their strong global reach, K-pop group Big Bang has been chosen as the key figure in the new "Creative Korea" slogan campaign.
This information was released by the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on August 2nd.
"Big Bang will promote the 'Creative Korea' brand worldwide as a 'Creative Icon'," the ministry announced. "The group will have a significant impact on promoting the image of Korea."
Created before the 2002 World Cup co-hosted by South Korea and Japan, the country's "Dynamic South Korea" brand was replaced last month following a nationwide survey.

Since the Rio 2016 Olympics, the five-member group has taken on the new responsibility of being a brand ambassador for South Korea until the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.
Debuting in 2006, Big Bang is an iconic K-pop group that has garnered global attention. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, the band has held a series of concerts and exhibitions in recent months. Their three-day tour in Japan last month attracted 165,000 attendees, according to their management company, YG Entertainment.
Big Bang is preparing for an upcoming multimedia exhibition in Seoul, from August 5th to October 30th, and for a performance at Seoul World Cup Stadium on August 20th.
