Bus caught transporting 3000 packs of cigarettes without papers

(Baonghean.vn) - The passenger bus carrying more than 3,000 packs of cigarettes without documents was arrested by the Traffic Police and handed over to Dien Chau District Police for handling according to the law.

On the morning of June 19, Dien Chau Traffic Police Station (5-1) under the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Province Police said that the incident took place at 11:30 p.m. on June 18, at km 420, National Highway 1A, in Dien Ky Commune, Dien Chau District, Nghe An.

Cigarettes were hidden in the passenger compartment.

Accordingly, while on patrol and control duty on National Highway 1A, the Dien Chau Traffic Police Station's Working Group inspected a passenger bus with license plate 17B - 010.23 driven by Duc Minh Dai (born in 1972, residing in Dong Cuong, Dong Hung, Thai Binh).

After checking the documents, the driver showed many suspicious signs. The working group inspected the goods in the car and discovered 3 white bags in the trunk. When opened to check, they discovered that inside were 3,000 packs of ESSE brand cigarettes made abroad.

At the time of inspection, the driver did not have valid documents. Accordingly, the Dien Chau Traffic Police Station Working Group made a record of the incident according to regulations and handed it over to Dien Chau District Police for investigation and handling according to regulations.
