Canadian police foil terrorist attack plot

(Baonghean.vn) - The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said on August 10 that it had foiled a terrorist attack plot believed to be linked to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS).

"Early on the morning of August 10, the RCMP received credible information about a possible terrorist attack. A suspect was subsequently arrested and the RCMP took swift action to ensure there was no further danger to the public," an RCMP representative said in a statement.

RCMP are currently refusing to provide details about this terrorist plot. Sources from CTV channel said the arrested suspect is a man, suspected of planning to carry out a suicide bombing in the city of Strathroy, Ontario.

RCMP also said the investigation is still ongoing.
