Hyperloop One, a US company, plans to build a super-fast train to transport goods underwater to give space back to the coasts.

According to Peter Diamandis, a board member of Hyperloop One in Los Angeles, USA, Hyperloop trains with speeds up to 1,200 km/h can transport goods to ports 10 miles away from shore. "We have talked to many port authorities around the world about restructuring ports according to this model," Diamandis said.

Hyperloop is a smart train project that American billionaire Elon Musk introduced in August 2013.According toBusiness Insider, the company Hyperloop One proposes moving ports 10 miles offshore and building docking stations for ships that resemble giant drilling rigs to unload cargo. Hyperloop ships would travel between the shore and offshore ports to load containers.

In this system, the train will run in a vacuum tube, a technology that can eliminate air resistance and increase speed. The average speed of the train is 965 km/h and the maximum speed reaches more than 1,220 km/h.

"Long Beach, near where I live, is a beautiful stretch of California coastline, but it's been overrun with ports, shipping containers, and cargo ships. Imagine if you could reclaim that space for parks, housing, and beaches by moving the port farther out to sea," Diamandis said.

The Hyperloop's track design is a closed tube located below the water surface, avoiding navigation problems.

"I think in the future, there's a lot of underutilized underwater space. And the Hyperloop could be at the forefront of tunnel technology," Diamandis said.

Diamandis revealed that the company is considering the possibility of using an underwater Hyperloop to transport people. "One of the interesting proposals is a route through the sea between Norway and Sweden," Diamandis said.
