According to information from Tan Son Nhat Airport Complex, at 2 PM.July 29th,On a screen in the passenger check-in area of Vietjet Airlines, content insulting Vietnam and the Philippines, and distorting information about the South China Sea, suddenly appeared.

At 6 PM, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chief of the Office of Noi Bai International Airport, stated that the screens at the airport were currently displaying nothing. He added that repairs are underway and they will provide updates as soon as possible.

Earlier, at 5:40 PM, the Director of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority, Lai Xuan Thanh, stated that the Authority was coordinating the handling of the situation but could not provide any information at this time.

According to a source, Tan Son Nhat Airport experienced three information system failures. The first two times, hackers displayed misleading messages, and the third time, they crashed the entire system. Currently, staff are processing customer lists and procedures manually.

At Noi Bai Airport, at 5:30 PM, the information disruption was more serious than at Tan Son Nhat, with incorrect information displayed at most check-in counters and spreading to the public address system.

This information was immediately reported to the Port's leadership, security agencies, and other relevant authorities.

Airport officials decided to cover the faulty screen and continue processing procedures to ensure normal airport operations. However, shortly afterward, the content spread to screens at other airlines' check-in counters.

After 4 PM, these messages appeared at some check-in counters at Noi Bai Airport. Airlines were asked to maintain the status quo while security agencies investigated the matter.

At 5 PM this afternoon, the internal network was compromised, and this situation was reported to 21 airports nationwide so that they could take appropriate countermeasures.

The incident was described as "very serious" by a leader at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

Mr. Dinh Viet Son, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, said that he had received the information and had submitted a report to the Ministry of Transport.
